RAMAN

Besides its application in the Laser-induced Breakdown (or Plasma) Spectroscopy, the ARYELLE spectrograph is also well suited for advanced investigations in Raman spectroscopy. The requirement of high optical throughput is met by enlarging the entrance slit to some hundred microns. In so doing, simultaneous Raman spectra with a shift range of 4000 cm-1 and a spectral resolution of 1 cm-1 are easily attainable. Supported by a Peltier-cooled CCD array detector, the ARYELLE spectrograph produces excellent Raman spectra for any laser excitation wavelength from the UV to the NIR. For specific investigations, the system can be simply adapted by increasing the shift range and/or the spectral resolution. In the following, measurements with 20 mW-HeNe laser excitation demonstrate the capabilities of the ARYELLE-supported Raman spectroscopy.
