Leveraging science and technology to foster international cooperation
If Europe is to maintain technological sovereignty, a strong German-Polish partnership is essential. For LTB Lasertechnik Berlin GmbH, this past week was not just about theory, but also its active implementation. Two LTB teams worked simultaneously to reinforce this critical axis: one on the strategic stage in Berlin and the other on the ground in Polish research centres in Gliwice, Krakow and Poznan.
The message is clear: Business thrives on relationships, and innovation requires cross-border synergy.
1. Strategic Dialogue in Berlin
At the “German-Polish Future Markets” conference in Berlin, the vast potential of binational collaboration became very evident. Under the theme “Synergy of Ideas: From Digitalisation to Green Economy,” over 200 leaders discussed Europe’s digital and economic sovereignty.
Photonics was highlighted as a key technology, essential for advancements ranging from quantum computing to security applications. Christoph Scholz of LTB contributed actively to the panel discussion. LTB firmly believes that robust economic and scientific ties are crucial for both Poland and Germany. The commitment of the partnership was further emphasised by Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski’s announcement of four joint AI Gigafactories.
2. Scientific Cooperation in Practice
While frameworks were being discussed in Berlin, LTB colleagues Lukas Streubel and Axel Wiegand were executing the partnership in Poland.
The team completed a busy week touring various institutes within the Lukasiewicz research network. A key achievement was the installation of an Aryelle spectrometer at the Łukasiewicz Institute for Microelectronics and Photonics in Krakow. Going beyond simple installation and training, the team immediately began scientific work, successfully capturing initial plasma signals alongside Polish researchers. The trip also included collaborative visits to the Institute for Ceramics and Building Materials and concluded at the Poznan Institute of Technology.
Driving Europe’s Technological Future
This week was a good example of LTB Lasertechnik Berlin’s commitment to the German-Polish friendship: through dialogue on equal footing and collaborative work at the technological cutting edge.
By engaging in strategic discussions in Berlin and delivering the latest spectroscopy and laser microtechnology solutions on-site in Poland, LTB’s goal remains consistent: combining the innovative strengths of both nations to compete successfully within Europe and on a global stage. Continued support for these vital cross-border projects is essential for future success stories such as this.
